The Human Resources Directorate is responsible for the essential task of networking the operational and strategic levels of HR and further developing the university’s HR processes. Recruitment, staff retention and the strategic development of human resources are the core tasks of the Human Resources Directorate in order to create optimal personnel management conditions for the University of Klagenfurt.

Sabine Trost (*1981) completed her diploma degree in Educational Science at the University of Vienna and her diploma degree in Law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz.
She commenced her professional career in 2006, working in the field of social education and educational guidance, before taking up posts at various Austrian universities. There, her initial focus was on quality management and accreditation procedures. Since 2013, she has specialised in human resource management. From 2013 to 2021, she served as head of staff development at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. In 2021, she joined Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, where she was responsible for the human resources division and sat on the management board. During her career, she has acquired and successfully implemented extensive expertise in the areas of HR and organisational development and strategic HR management.
Sabine Trost took up the post of Director of Human Resources in December 2024 and is a member of the extended university management team.
