“If you can’t see what it is anymore, you have to write it down.” With this statement Heimo Zobernig underlines the intention of his work “Library” for the new university building. The continuous band of writing on the cube emhasizes one of the central elements of the university – spatially and symbolically.

Heimo Zobernig was born in Mauthen/Carinthia in 1958 and lives in Vienna. Since 2000, he has been professor of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts. His works are characterized by a minimalist vocabulary. Moving thematically between space, colour and text, Zobernig uses the entire spectrum of artistic forms of expression.
