Extension programmes

All applicants must meet at least one of the following admission requirements:

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme at the University of Klagenfurt.
• Valid admission to a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Diploma degree programme at the University of Klagenfurt.
  In the case of the extension of a Bachelor’s degree programme: completion of examinations and/or of the Bachelor’s thesis comprising at least 120 ECTS credits.
  In the case of the extension of a Master’s degree programme: completion of examinations and/or of the Master’s thesis comprising at least 80 ECTS credits.
  In the case of the extension of a Diploma degree programme: completion of the first stage of the degree programme.
• If you have completed a regular degree programme from another recognised domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution, you can apply for admission to an extension programme.
  The application procedure is as follows:
  The application for admission and the required documents must be sent by post to or handed in in person at the Admissions and Examinations Office.
  The respective original documents are required for admission. Alternatively, notarised copies can be submitted. Official translations of the original documents may be required. Printouts, scans or simple copies will not be accepted! Depending on the country in which the degree was obtained, legalisation may be required. Information on legalisation and translation.
  The following documents are required:

  • Final documents from the degree programme at a post-secondary educational institution (in the original or optionally as a notarised copy and, if necessary, with the corresponding legalisation)
  • Passport/ID card (if the documents are sent in advance as a copy, otherwise the original if handed in directly)
