International Simone de Beauvoir Society mit dem Titel „Beauvoir and Reproduction: Politics, Labour, Biology, Lived Experience“ einladen.
Die Konferenz findet von Donnerstag, 28. Mai, bis Freitag, 29. Mai 2026 an der Universität Klagenfurt / Celovec, Raum O.0.01 (O‑Gebäude) statt.

Vor dem Hintergrund anhaltender und erneut verschärfter Einschränkungen reproduktiver Rechte und im Dialog mit feministischen und queeren Debatten untersucht die Konferenz Beauvoirs Philosophie als eine zentrale kritische Ressource zur Analyse reproduktiver Erfahrungen, von Unterdrückung, Arbeit und Technologien sowie zur Neubestimmung von Reproduktion und nicht‑reproduktiver Verwandtschaft als Teil emanzipatorischer Zukunftsentwürfe.

Wenn Sie in den vergangenen fünf Jahren eine Monografie zu Beauvoir und/oder Reproduktion und/oder feministischer Philosophie, Theorie oder Geschichte veröffentlicht haben und diese im Rahmen der Konferenz ausstellen und kurz präsentieren möchten, senden Sie uns bitte bis Dienstag, 28. April, eine 200‑Wörter‑Beschreibung der Monografie inklusive aller bibliografischen Angaben (Autor:in(nen), Titel, Erscheinungsjahr, Verlag usw.).
Wenn Sie Ihr Buch auf der Book Fair präsentieren möchten und/oder am Conference Dinner am Donnerstag, 28. Mai teilnehmen wollen, ist ebenfalls eine Registrierung über den oben genannten Link bis Dienstag, 28. April erforderlich: https://forms.gle/MWjKe47JknYAvhZg7

this is to cordially invite you to attend the upcoming International Simone de Beauvoir Society Conference „Beauvoir and Reproduction: Politics, Labour, Biology, Lived Experience“, which will take place Thu 28th May – Fri 29th May at the University of Klagenfurt / Celovec in O.0.01 (O Building).
Amid persistent and renewed restrictions on reproductive rights and in dialogue with feminist and queer debates, the conference examines Beauvoir’s philosophy as a critical resource for analysing reproductive experiences, oppression, labour, and technologies, and for reimagining both reproduction and non-reproductive kinship as part of emancipatory futures.

We are also accepting proposals for the Book Fair Session that will take place during the conference. If you have authored a monograph on Beauvoir and/or reproduction and/or feminist philosophy/theory/history in the past 5 years and would like to display it and briefly present it at the conference, send us a 200 word description of the monograph with all bibliographical information (author(s), title, year of publication, publisher, etc.) by Tuesday, 28th April.
