S.O.S. – Students on Stage
Students on Stage (S.O.S.)
Students on Stage (S.O.S.) is the student theatre group of the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Klagenfurt. Founded in the winter term of 2023, the project provides students with the rare opportunity to engage with English-language drama inside and outside the classroom. Mounting a production from the ground up, students learn to approach plays both from a scholar’s as well as practitioner’s perspective. They get the chance to flex their creative muscles as actors, costume, stage, and graphic designers, assistant directors, and more. Throughout the production process, students take on responsibility, make choices, and work together as a team, thereby developing a deep understanding of the difference between the drama as text form and the theatre production as a collaborative adaptation thereof.
The project is organized by Elena Ippendorf and René Reinhold Schallegger.

One relationship. Infinite possibilities. In Nick Payne’s tender, funny, heart-breaking, and mind-bending Constellations, a physicist and a beekeeper fall in love – or not. They live, laugh, fight, split up, and find each other again – or not. As Marianne tells Roland: “Every choice, every decision you’ve ever and never made exists in an unimaginably vast ensemble of parallel universes.”
