How can I participate?

The Infoweek takes place as an online event. There will be several live sessions per day in which our English-language degree programmes will be presented. After each session, there will be the opportunity to ask specific questions or seek advice in a live chat.

The live presentations will take place on the online platform classroom.aau.at (recommended browsers: Firefox or Chrome). No registration, no download necessary! You can join the Infoweek by simply clicking on the session link of your choice in our schedule.

FAQs

Click on the chosen link in the schedule and you will be connected to the live session on https://classroom.aau.at/. It is not necessary to register for the session in advance.

When classroom.aau.at opens, you simply enter your chosen user name, and you are ready to join the session.

You need a computer/laptop or a smartphone to join the online sessions. If you would like to ask verbal questions during any of the sessions, you will need a microphone or a headset.

Of course! During the online sessions you have the opportunity to ask questions using either the chat function or the audio function provided by classroom.aau.at. You can do this anonymously or with your name (depending on the user name you selected when you logged into classroom.aau.at).
Our colleagues delivering the presentations will answer your questions at the end of the video session.

The presenters and other participants cannot see you. You can decide, whether you ask your questions via the chat function or verbally, using the audio function. At the start of every session, the participants are automatically muted. If you would like to ask a question, please remember to activate your microphone.

You can join later, but to ensure that you don’t miss any vital information, we recommend that you join the selected presentations on time. If you prefer, you can log into classroom.aau.at a few minutes before the starting time indicated.

Europe’s largest drone hall

With a floor area measuring up to 150 square metres and a height of ten metres, researchers investigating drones have access to cutting-edge research infrastructure at the University of Klagenfurt. This places the Drone-Hub Klagenfurt firmly among the world leaders in this field. The drone technology refined in Klagenfurt will also be on board NASA‘s Mars mission in 2021 and will be used to explore the Red Planet.

Research laboratory for video streaming

This young, dynamic campus is the starting point for global success stories. The company Bitmovin, which specialises in video streaming services, was founded by graduates of the University of Klagenfurt and has established a strong position on the global market in recent years with investments exceeding 50 million dollars. Today, the company conducts research on campus in the ATHENA laboratory, working in close collaboration with teams from the university.

In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020, which aim to rank the 1,400 best universities worldwide, it is ranked in the 301-350 range. In the field of Computer Science, the University of Klagenfurt achieved third place among Austrian universities in the 201-250 range.
