Strategic partnerships
The University of Klagenfurt endeavours to establish strategic partnerships with selected universities.
The first university to enter into such a strategic partnership agreement was Ca`Foscari University in Venice. For more information, please visit the Ca’ Foscari Venice University page. There are ongoing discussions with other universities.
The University of Klagenfurt joined the YERUN network in January 2022, together with the University of Potsdam, the University of Stirling and the University of South-Eastern Norway. The Young European Research Universities (YERUN) network is a group of highly regarded young universities that regularly achieve success in rankings. The aim of the partnership is to strengthen cooperation between the participating universities in the areas of research, teaching, and the provision of services.
The universities involved in a strategic partnership aim to achieve common goals in the realms of teaching, science and culture. They establish lines of communication and platforms to facilitate and promote this exchange.
Strategic partnerships link the participating universities on many levels and are intended not only to promote exchanges between individuals at the level of students and academics, but also to enable cooperation on a broader basis to achieve common goals, host conferences and symposia, and submit funding proposals.
