The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (AICS) is performing research and teaching in following areas:

• The application of intelligent system technologies to practical problems and the development of methods for building knowledge-intensive software applications with a particular focus on recommender systems
• Knowledge acquisition, knowledge representation and reasoning in the area of artificial intelligence with a particular focus on applications in various areas such as production systems or medical information systems
• Applied cryptography, security infrastructures, IT risk management and the design and evaluation of security concepts
• Cybersecurity
• Natural language processing and computational linguistics
• Foundations and specific application fields of semantic systems
