Information for first-year students: USI, 24-hour library, Studo… and what is this student portal?

Are you just starting your studies at the University of Klagenfurt? Do you want to benefit instantly from all the offers, such as free Wi-Fi, the courses at the University Sports Centre and the 24-hour library? We’ll give you a few helpful tips to get you started right away!

Your digital home base: The student portal

The student portal (campus.aau.at) is a web interface where you can find and organise everything to do with your studies (register for courses, check grades and much more). You will also find the confirmation of enrolment and registration for the continuation of studies, which you will need to submit to the tax office, scholarship office, etc. You can log in to the student portal with your access data, i.e. user name and password, which are assigned during registration.

Tip: Please note that you can only register once the ÖH/student fee has been credited to the university account (approximately five working days after payment).

Get connected! – Use the free WLAN on campus

The eduroam WLAN network is available to you at the University of Klagenfurt (and many other academic institutions in Europe and beyond). How do you log in? It’s easy: Go to the student portal, log in with your university account data and look at your profile page (“Visitenkarte”). Under the tab “Account” you will find your access data for eduroam.

On your mobile phone, the login process will look like this:
Select the WLAN network “eduroam” and set the following settings:
EAP-Methode: PEAP
Phase 2-Authentifizierung: MSCHAPv2
CA-Zertifikat: Do not validate
Then enter the connection information:
Identität: Username from the profile page (“Visitenkarte”)
Anonyme Identität: Leave blank
Passwort: Password from the profile page (“Visitenkarte”)
Click on „Verbinden“ and you’re in!

Early bird or rather night owl? It doesn’t matter, with the 24-hour library!

With your AAU Card and after activation via the student portal, you can use the university library at any time. And this is how it works: Log in to the student portal with your university account data, go to settings and register for the 24-hour library.

Have you always wanted to try Krav Maga or Pole Dancing? Or are you more drawn to ski touring? Then start now! Simply log in to the USI portal with your university account data, put the desired course in the shopping basket, pay the fee and you’re ready to go! All further information on enrolment can be found on the USI website.

Tip: The courses are booked up quickly, so register as early as possible 😉 Semester/season tickets are available for the USI gym (“Kraftkammer”) and the climbing wall.
