Markus Hornböck, one of our graduates, studied Applied Business Administration. He has served as Managing Director of BABEG Kärntner Betriebsansiedlungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft m.b.H. since 2019. Innovative programmes for the promotion of excellent Master’s students are being developed within the framework of the cooperation with HUAWEI Austria. Thanks to HUAWEI’s support, the University of Klagenfurt has now launched the new HUAWEI Technology Scholarships to encourage excellent Master’s students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences. We have also introduced the HUAWEI Best Performer Awards, which honour students who have achieved an outstanding academic performance. Together, these two programmes further enhance the attractiveness of the technical degree programmes in Klagenfurt.
The University of Klagenfurt has joined the Seeds for the Future Programme for the first time this year. This format allows Huawei to promote the networking of cultures and international cooperation in our increasingly digitalised world. Intercultural understanding and knowledge are the keys to success. With the “Seeds for the Future” programme, Huawei wants to promote precisely this and this year the corporation invites young IT talents from the University of Klagenfurt to apply for the programme.
This project is the latest step in a long-standing and successful partnership: Stadtwerke Klagenfurt AG are cooperating with the University of Klagenfurt in the field of sustainable mobility. Starting in September 2021, the public relations team at the University of Klagenfurt has taken “green” trips to trade fairs and school visits throughout Austria and to neighbouring countries.
