Am Institut für Informationstechnologie beschäftigt sich eine Gruppe von ForscherInnen in mehreren Projekten mit der Analyse und Verarbeitung von Endoskopie-Videos. Die Erfolge der von Klaus Schöffmann und Laszlo Böszörmenyi geleiteten Projekte beruhen auch auf der guten Zusammenarbeit mit Ärzten und dem Medizintechnikunternehmen Karl Storz.
In many forests, the collection of information pertaining to the wood remains neglected, due to a shortage of specially trained personnel, specific expertise, funding, or appropriate technology. A project funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) aims to put small, unmanned helicopters to work, measuring the parameters for the forest inventory.
The information technology specialist Raheeb Muzaffar has developed an application-layer framework that improves the transmission of videos between moving drones and mobile devices located at ground level. His work within the ICE doctoral programme will be completed soon. He explains what makes this technology innovative and talks about his plans for the future in a conversation with AAU-News.
