From 25th – 27th November the “International Conference on Future Data and Security Engineering (FDSE)” has taken place.
The conference was hosted by the Quy Nhon University, Binh Dinh, Vietnam. Because of the Covid 19 pandemic it was organized as online conference.
O.Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Johann Eder was invited to talk as one of the Keynote-Speakers about “Data Quality for Medical Data Lakelands”.
This week, State Governor Peter Kaiser honoured three Bachelor’s, three Diploma and three Master’s theses as well as three doctoral theses, awarding a Carinthian Digitalisation Grant 2020 to each of the authors.
Many of us are familiar with recommender systems, especially from sales platforms. Based on our previous decisions, they recommend other products that could also be of interest to us. But can they guide us towards “better” options that are genuinely more beneficial for us? Mathias Jesse, doctoral student in the doctoral school DECIDE, is investigating the working mechanisms of various technical concepts.
Celina Strasser has always loved puzzles. Mathematics was already her favourite subject during her school days. Celina Strasser is currently studying Technical Mathematics at the University of Klagenfurt. She talked to us about outdated ways of thinking, the gender gap in technical areas, clichés in mathematics and her passion for modelling, optimising and programming.
