Tariff Structure and Login

The tariff classification for active students and staff of all Austrian universities and higher education institutions is assigned automatically as soon as you log in with the login credentials of the respective university/institution after selecting it. This also applies to graduates of the University of Klagenfurt.

Participants logging in with their private email address and a self-chosen password must ensure that they are correctly classified before registering for a course.

Persons who are not yet registered or who cannot select their educational institution must complete an initial registration.

Initial Registration

All persons who do not have an existing or valid account must complete an initial registration.

Individuals who have completed their studies or terminated their employment with the university/college must create a new account through the initial registration process (the access from the Austrian university/college is no longer valid).

For account verification, uploading an official photo ID is required (this will be deleted immediately after account activation).

Academics must upload appropriate proof of status during registration for correct tariff classification.

Alumni of the University of Klagenfurt must upload their alumni card instead of proof of their academic degree in order to receive the 10% discount. The alumni-card can be ordered via the following link: Digitale Alumni-Karte & Vorteile – Universität Klagenfurt

After logging in, only the assigned rate will be displayed.

Add your desired course to the shopping cart.

Payment of the course fee can be made via Credit card (Secure Code required), Debit card or EPS (Online Banking through your bank’s portal – Austrian banks only).

Please bring either a printed or digital copy of your registration confirmation when attending the course.

OFFICE

Course registration can also be completed in person at the USI office (Universitätsstraße 63, 9020 Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Room U.2.02) during office hours using cash, debit card or credit card payment (either in person or through an authorized representative). All personal data must be up to date in any case.

Note for students and staff of Austrian universities and higher education institutions: The account must be reactivated each semester at the USI office before course registration!

Note for persons without a valid account: Registration at the USI office can only be carried out if an account has already been created online and confirmed via the email link.

What do I need to do if I’m a student or employee of a university/college?

The rate classification is applied automatically. Login is performed using the login credentials from your respective educational institution.

What do I need to do if I am NOT a student or employee of a university/college?

If no USI Klagenfurt account exists yet, an initial registration must be completed. After successful activation, course booking becomes possible.

What do I need to do if I’m a graduate of a university or college?

In this case, please upload appropriate proof during the registration process. After verification, Tariff 3 for academics will be activated.
Alternatively, documents may be sent by email to usi [at] aau [dot] at.

Until when can you register for USI courses?

Registration for USI courses is open until the course capacity is full or until the specified registration deadline. Early registration is recommended to secure a spot.

How can I check if there are still available spots in the desired course?

For the desired sports course (https://usi-sportangebot.aau.at), available spots are indicated in the course overview with “Still enough places available”

Is there a waiting list for fully booked courses?

A notification list is maintained for fully booked courses (click the bell icon for fully booked courses). If a spot becomes available, all persons on the notification list will be informed simultaneously.
NOTE: There is no corresponding ranking order.

Can I register other people as well?

Yes, provided a complete and accurate registration in our course management system is in place. However, this only applies to registration at the USI Office. For online registration, each individual has their own access with a password.

Will I get a refund if I registered with the wrong tariff?

NO! Make sure to confirm your classification into the correct tariff group/person category before registering.

Can I pay by payment slip?

No! Course registration is conducted online with payment of course fees through the available online payment systems (credit card, debit card, EPS) or via cash or Bankomat card payment during designated office hours at the secretariat.

What if I can’t attend a course session – do I need to inform someone?

Weekly recurring course: Once you are registered for a course (= booked and paid) and have your printed/digital registration confirmation, participation is possible. Apologies for absence are not required.

Block course or camp: Please inform the course instructor.

How can I contact a course instructor?

This is possible directly through the respective course page, provided you are enrolled in that course.

For questions regarding course registration, the Office is the only point of contact.

I want to attend a course, but I don’t have anyone to look after my child during that time.

Individuals who require childcare while attending a USI course can contact the university’s Family Services. They offer flexible, hourly childcare for children starting from 8 weeks old. For more information, visit: University of Klagenfurt – Family Services
