You are an international student in your first semester at the University of Klagenfurt?

Before starting your studies

For questions about a degree programme offered at the University of Klagenfurt, please get in touch with the Student Guidance Service.

Questions about the application process are answered on this website or by the Admissions and Examinations Office.

The Welcome Center supports international students at the University of Klagenfurt with matters related to their stay in Austria, such as entry & residence, accommodation, living in Klagenfurt/Austria and learning German.

Once you have arrived in Klagenfurt and enrolled at the University of Klagenfurt, the International Peer-Mentors will welcome you and support you in person!

What the International Peer-Mentors offer

Our mentors are students from higher semesters who want to support you at the beginning of your studies. After the start of the semester, you can meet us on campus or reach out to us via e-mail.

We host regular meetups to which you can come without prior registration. You can find the exact dates of our meetups here: Mentoring for International Students.

We support you with:

arriving at university and finding your way around

getting aqcuainted with the campus system, your curriculum and finding the right courses for you

answering your study-related questions and offering you guidance

meeting fellow students and mentors to build a network for yourself
