History
The University of Klagenfurt was founded in 1970. Since 2004 it has also held the name Alpen-Adria-Universität, reflecting its self-conception as a hub for knowledge acquisition and transfer at the heart of the region.

Photography and filming permits
In the following contexts, photography and filming on the campus of the University of Klagenfurt are permitted within the framework of the legal requirements and without a permit:
- Photography and filming for purely private purposes
- Photography and filming in the context of university (teaching) events
Photography and filming permits must be obtained for all other purposes. Filming permits must be co-ordinated and approved at least one week in advance. Short-term authorisations may be granted for journalistic purposes directly related to the University of Klagenfurt. Please use the contact form on our website to request photography and filming permits (scroll down).
No photography and filming permits will be issued in the following circumstances:
- Use of images for professional purposes not related to the university.
- Use of images for commercial purposes.
- Use of images for advertising purposes not related to the university.
