Casting the rational behaviour of individuals in mathematical models and learning from these for use in reality: Daniel Rehsmann recently completed his doctorate in microeconomics and, among other things, he explored the conditions under which it is rational to spread misinformation.
What happens when strategic decisions are not reached in the boardroom, but by a large number of stakeholders? Ali Banihashemi models the long-term impact of open strategy on companies and institutions. He has no doubt: “In the future, we will have to rely on open decision-making processes.”
What does a chemist do when she realises that she doesn’t enjoy working in a lab? She takes up International Business and Economics at the University of Klagenfurt and gains the necessary tools to enter a managerial position – perhaps in a chemical company – in the future. Janna Despriet Roig, from Spain, tells us how this decision brought her to Klagenfurt.
