- The Worlds of English minor requires English language skills at level B2 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
- You can only choose Worlds of English as a Bachelor's degree minor if you are pursuing a Bachelor's combination programme at the University of Klagenfurt.
- Once you have successfully completed the Introductory and Orientation Period in your major, you can begin studying Worlds of English as a Bachelor's degree minor.
- If you are pursuing the Bachelor's combination programme Worlds of English, you cannot choose Worlds of English as a Bachelor's degree minor.

What is a Bachelor’s combination programme?
A Bachelor’s combination programme consists of one major subject supplemented by one or two minor subjects. A Bachelor’s degree programme comprises 180 ECTS credits. In a Bachelor’s combination programme, you combine one major worth 120 ECTS credits with one minor worth 60 ECTS credits or two minors worth 30 ECTS credits each. This flexible structure opens up even more opportunities for you to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Klagenfurt after completing your Bachelor’s degree.
How does a Bachelor’s combination programme differ from a traditional Bachelor’s degree?
In a traditional Bachelor’s degree programme, you choose one main subject – such as International Business and Economics.
In contrast, Bachelor’s combination programmes allow you to combine two subjects in a targeted way – for example, a language (German Studies, Slavonic Studies or Romance Studies) with a minor such as Management, Applied AI, or Ethics. This allows you to shape a personalised competence profile that reflects your personal interests while also allowing you to stand out on the job market.

When can / must I choose a minor subject?
Only after successfully completing the Introductory and Orientation Period of your major subject can / must you choose one minor subject (worth 60 ECTS credits) or two minor subjects (worth 30 ECTS credits each).
Can I switch my minor subject during the course of my studies?
Yes, it is generally possible to change your minor subject.
Please note, however, that if you have already successfully completed courses in your previous minor subject, you may find that the ECTS credits you earned will not be counted towards your new minor subject.
