Flexibility
You can structure your degree programme in a way that allows you to focus on specific areas and specialise – entirely in line with your particular interests and professional aspirations.
Starting in the winter semester 2026/27, you have the opportunity to choose from Bachelor’s combination programmes as well as traditional Bachelor’s programmes. This allows you to tailor your studies to best suit your interests. You decide where to place your focus and which subjects you would like to combine.
A Bachelor’s combination programme consists of one major subject supplemented by one or two minor subjects. A Bachelor’s degree programme comprises 180 ECTS credits. In a Bachelor’s combination programme, you combine one major worth 120 ECTS credits with one minor worth 60 ECTS credits or two minors worth 30 ECTS credits each. In total, your Bachelor’s combination programme will therefore comprise 180 ECTS credits, just like a traditional Bachelor’s degree programme. This flexible structure opens up even more opportunities for you to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Klagenfurt after completing your Bachelor’s degree.
In a traditional Bachelor’s degree programme, you choose one main subject – such as International Business and Economics. You can find all the Bachelor’s degrees on offer on our website.
In contrast, Bachelor’s combination programmes allow you to combine two subjects in a targeted way – for example, a language (German Studies, Slavonic Studies or Romance Studies) with a professionally relevant minor such as Business, Technology, or Ethics. This allows you to shape a personalised competence profile that reflects your personal interests while also standing out on the job market.
