I am a sociologist conducting qualitative research into a variety of areas such as Science and Technology Studies (STS), Cultural Sociology and Responsible Research and Innovation. I have worked at the intersections of Human-Computer Interaction and STS, and some of my publications draw on insights from neighbouring fields of STS, namely Social Studies of Finance and Economic Sociology.
Part of my empirical research has been about governance and responsible innovation. Earlier empirical work concerned trust and quantification in global microfinance. Moreover, I am currently reconsidering former ethnographic fieldwork of mine into urban water supply in Sub-Saharan Africa. Based on the observed problems of digitisation I am developing a theoretical contribution to STS care ethics.
