How can I create audio or video recordings of my courses?
The recording of your course, the video editing and the embedding of the video in your Moodle course is done by the department of eLearning Service. To request the recording of your course, please write an e-mail (min. 3 weeks) before the beginning of the semester to Philipp Schwarz or the eLearning hotline [elearning [at] aau.at].
Which types of podcasts are possible?
The department of eLearning Service generates audio or video podcasts of your course(s).
Is the audio or video recording free of costs?
Yes, recordings done by the department of eLearning Service are free of costs.
Where can I publish the recordings of my course(s)?
Usually, the recordings are uploaded in your Moodle course. You are also invited to publish your podcasts on the iTunesU sites of the AAU. Videos can be published on YouTube, too. Of course, the department of eLearning Service supports you in this process.
Who owns the rights on my recordings?
The rights on the recording(s) belong to the lecturer. Only the lecturer decides where the content is published.
What do I have to consider if I want to create podcasts?
As with all lectures, you have to pay attention that you are holder of the copyright of the materials you use or that you use copyright-free materials.

The video recording of a lecture is not displayed in Moodle. What can I do?
Please make sure that you use the browser “Mozilla Firefox”. Additionally, please deactivate the pop-up blocker. If you still encounter problems with the video, please contact the eLearning hotline [elearning [at] aau.at].
Am I allowed to audio or video record courses on my own?
Please ask the lecturer in advance if he or she agrees with the recording. Parts of a course can be recorded as audio podcasts if they are for personal use only. Transfer to third parties, however, is condemnable.
