Accessing electronic media
E-books, e-journals & specialized databases
AAU university members (staff and students) have various options for accessing purchased or licensed e-books, e-journals, or databases.
The following applies to almost all electronic resources: They can be used not only on university premises, but also remotely, from outside the campus.
Non-university members (students from other universities, school pupils, graduates of AAU and external users) with a library card from the University Library Klagenfurt can access most electronic media on the university library’s PCs.
Access from outside the university library is not permitted for licensing reasons!

Proxy
If you use the databases licensed by us outside the university campus, please chek your browser settings for the proxy server. (Login using university access data)
Please note the special login information for some of the databases in DBIS.
shibboleth
Some providers offer the option of logging in using shibboleth. This only applies to AAU university staff and students!

On the respective website, click on login/register and then on register via institution. There, search for the entry for the University Klagenfurt. After logging in with your university access data (username and password), you will be shown which data will be transmitted to the respective provider. If you agree to this transmission, you will be taken to the website and can use the content licensed by the University Library Klagenfurt in accordance with the respective terms and conditions.
