Graduates of the Master’s degree programme in Informatics are experts in their specialist field with a comprehensive background in Informatics. They are qualified to manage complex software development projects, to define novel problem solutions, and to develop the concepts, methods, and tools of Informatics or one of the areas of application in a focused manner. They are distinguished by their high degree of independence and superior problem-solving skills. In particular, they are skilled at adapting to and mastering technical paradigm shifts. Furthermore, following three years of relevant professional activity and the successful completion of the Civil Engineer examination, graduates of the Master’s degree programme are entitled to work as chartered civil engineers in the field of Informatics.

Practical training
Over the course of the Master’s degree, students are encouraged to complete a suitable internship (project), in order to test, apply and expand the acquired expertise and knowledge in a practical setting. Additionally, it is recommended that students spend at least one semester abroad at a foreign institution or foreign university. In particular, students can avail themselves of the opportunity to complete the project abroad.

You do not have to go through a special admission procedure to start the Master's degree programme in Informatics in Klagenfurt.
You only have to meet the following conditions, which also apply to all other programmes:

When does the semester start?
The winter semester starts on the 1st of October and ends on the 31st of January. The summer semester starts on the 1st of March and ends on the 30th of June.
