Sen. Scientist Dr. Camila Ponce Lara
I am a sociologist specializing in social movements, environmental politics, and youth activism, with a particular focus on feminist and anti-extractivist struggles in Latin America and the Maghreb. My work has examined the political transformation driven by student-led mobilizations in Chile, as well as broader debates on alternatives to extractivism in the Global South. I have published on the role of young feminist activists and environmental movements in reshaping democratic imaginaries, and my recent research explores how social movements articulate visions of post-extractivist futures. Currently, I am also engaged in comparative research on environmental governance and activism in Latin America, the Maghreb, and Europe.
