Horst Pichler is a researcher and experienced software engineer. His current focus in the international EU-funded Project BBMRI is the harmonization of data in European biobanks.
His main research interests lie in the fields of software architectures, integration and optimization of communication and information systems, in particular data management (models, semantics, exchange) and business processes (modeling, automation, optimization), as well as systems integration (including mobile systems).
He authored many international publications an participated in multiple national and international projects.
