AbstractDer Vortrag beleuchtet die Geschichte des Himalaya-Bergsteigens aus einer geschlechterhistorischen Perspektive und wirft ein Schlaglicht auf den Wandel traditioneller Geschlechterbilder im nach wie vor männlich dominierten Alpinismus. Bis weit über die 1970er Jahre waren ambitionierte Bergsteigerinnen mit Vorurteilen und Skepsis konfrontiert und hatten nur bedingt Zugang zu Höhenexpeditionen.
