Public business administration faces a variety of challenges: growing public debt, globalisation, social and political change and new information technologies. There is an increasing complexity, a multitude of reforms and a continuously changing field of responsibilities. Further there is a lack of personnel and material resources. Due to this business management thinking and acting are becoming increasingly important.
Our departments’ degree programme focuses on the special requirements of future managers in the public business administration. The primary objective of our department is to help our students develop a deeper understanding of the management challenges that demand-oriented organisations face. We offer our students a broad and integrated education and concentrate on the development of social skills.
Students of our department are engaged in a variety of different jobs: Our graduates qualify for management or specialist tasks in non-profit organisations, in public administrations and public enterprises. In addition, they acquire the skills needed to perform advisory tasks for these sectors. Graduates of our department often also find employment in private-sector companies that interact with public institutions in the course of their service provision process.
