On June 13, 2025, the Carinthian Academic Championships in Padel Tennis took place on the padel tennis courts of Sportunion Klagenfurt. 15 teams competed for the title.

The preliminary round was played in 3 groups of 5 teams each. The winners of the respective groups then played in a group of 3 for places 1 to 3. The other teams also played in groups of 3 for the individual placings. In the final group, last year’s winner Patrick OFNER and his new partner Martin ANGERMANN prevailed and were able to defend their title from the previous year. Second place went to the SCHRANZER/SALZER team and bronze went to the HUBER/ORAZE team.

After the award ceremony – after almost 6 hours of padel tennis – we went straight to SCHNEIDER’s for food and drink. Thanks to all participants and also a big THANK YOU to Markus PIRKER-RODRIX for the great tournament management.

Unisport Austria Beach Volleyball Championships 2025

On May 28 and 29, 2025, the Unisport Austria Beach Volleyball Championships took place at the outdoor facility of the University Sports Institute Klagenfurt. The tournament was also part of the Amateur Tour of the Austrian Volleyball Association.

A total of 16 women’s and 16 men’s teams were registered. The preliminary round was played in a group phase (round robin). This was followed by single elimination.

After a long and exhausting first day, we went to the UniPizzeria. There we were able to review the first day over food and drink. It was a perfect end to the first day of the tournament.

On the second day of the tournament, it was down to the wire due to the single elimination format.

In the women’s competition, SARIC/KASTENBERGER from the University of Vienna beat LAMPRECHT/GRAF from the University of Innsbruck. Third place went to SCHULLER/NEISS from the University of Graz.

WAGNER/PICHLER from the University of Innsbruck won the men’s singles. They defeated the duo LORENTZ/STEINER from the University of Vienna. Bronze went to the University of Innsbruck with ÖRLEY/SEEBER.
