Carinthian Academic Championships – Badminton 2026

On March 20, 2026, the Carinthian Academic Badminton Championships took place in the gymnasium of the University Sports Institute in Klagenfurt. Champions were crowned in the women’s and men’s singles, women’s and men’s doubles, and mixed doubles categories.

Claudia TRIPOLD won the women’s singles competition ahead of Katharina BRETIS and Maria GABBAUER. Thomas PIPAN won the men’s singles ahead of Oliver RICHRATH and Claudio MÜLLER.

Gold in women’s doubles went to Claudia TRIPOLD/Maria ZENZ. The duo Katharina BRETIS/Maria GABBAUER won silver. Third place, and thus the bronze medal, went to Alina TOVMASYAN and Barbara JUKIC.

The winners of the men’s doubles were Christoph ABEL and Lucas ROGER. Second place went to Bernhard MARTIN and Christoph KARLSBERGER. Third place went to Michael GUNDACKER and Claudio MÜLLER.

In the mixed doubles competition, gold went to Claudia TRIPOLD and Christoph ABEL. Silver was won by Barbara JURKIC and Lucas ROGER. Bronze went to Maria ZENZ and Christoph KARLSBERGER.

UAM Alpine Skiing 2026

A great success for David HROVATH and the University of Klagenfurt. David won all three gold medals in Dienten am Hochkönig: gold in giant slalom, gold in slalom and gold in combined. Congratulations! David HROVATH had already made his mark at the European Universities Winter Championships in Val di Zoldo in 2025, winning the gold medal in slalom.

Carinthian Academic Championships – Gymnastics 10

Shortly before the end of the 2025/26 winter semester, the Carinthian Academic Championships in gymnastics took place once again. The competition was divided into the following three categories: ‘External’, ‘Sports Students’ and ‘Club Gymnasts’.

The performances were generally very impressive. All teams participated with great ambition and commitment. Right from the start, the teams’ entrance and the perfect choreography rounded off this event in an impressive manner.

In the EXTERNAL category, the team ‘Wird schon werden’ was crowned the winner. The SPORTS STUDENTS category was won by the team ‘Die kranken Schwestern’ by a narrow margin ahead of the team ‘Team Instabil’. Third place went to ‘Team black’. In the most technically demanding category, the team ‘Der wilde Mix’ celebrated the title of Carinthian Academic Champion. Silver went to ‘Die Schlafmützen’ and the team ‘Hopfenhelden’ was delighted to win bronze.

All in all, it was a great competition. Congratulations to all participants for their performances. A big THANK YOU to Julia BÜRGER and Patrick WOLTE for the great organisation. Perfect!

Carinthian Academic Championships – Mixed Volleyball 2026

As usual, the Carinthian Academic Championships in mixed volleyball took place in the Waidmannsdorf sports hall shortly after Epiphany. Under the direction of experienced tournament director Eve SIEBERT-KROISLEITNER, the teams competed for the coveted title. The preliminary round was played in two groups. Afterwards, the respective rankings were decided.

In the small final, ‘Mein Lieblingsteam’ prevailed against ‘Villa Kunterbunt’ and fought their way to 3rd place. The title of ‘Carinthian Academic Champion in Mixed Volleyball 2026’ – and thus winner of the final – was secured by the team ‘TiFlo TaMaHa’. In a high-level match, they prevailed against the team ‘Platzinger’. Congratulations!
