Doctoral scholarship – International Doctorate in Romance Studies at the University of Klagenfurt in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Double Degree)

The double PhD/doctoral degree program “Italian Studies” at the University of Klagenfurt (Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Education), in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Department of Humanities), is an international doctoral program that leads to a double degree: a doctoral degree in Romance Studies from the University of Klagenfurt and a PhD in Italian Studies from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

This program offers a unique opportunity in Austria to follow a structured path: the first and third years of study and research are based at the University of Klagenfurt, while the second year is spent at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Candidates interested in pursuing a PhD in the fields of Italian and comparative literature, Italian linguistics, or philology are invited to apply for the academic year 2025/2026. The call for applications for a doctoral scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt closes on July 28, 2025. Admission requirements include an excellent command of Italian and a good knowledge of either German or English.
The selected candidate will receive a scholarship of €13,700 to support the study and research stay at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice during the second year of the program, from September until the end of June.

Buchpräsentation “Horror Kultfilme” 23.1.2018

Die Bibliothek lädt alle Interessierten zur Buchpräsentation von Horror Kultfilme (Marburger Studien zur Medienforschung) ein. Das Werk wurde gemeinschaftlich von Angela FABRIS, Jörg HELBIG und Arno RUSSEGGER herausgegeben. Es widmet sich unterschiedlichen Aspekten des Horrorfilms. Analysen von individuellen Filmen stehen neben Ausführungen zu einzelnen Genres (z. B. Gothic Horror, Giallo, Parodien) und zu spezifischen Aspekten wie Gewalt oder Musik im Horrorfilm.

Die Herausgeber_innen werden Auszüge aus dem Werk vortragen. Für die musikalische Untermalung sorgt Werner Delanoy. Ein kleines Buffet erwartet Sie!
