Sebastian successfully defended his dissertation entitled „Essays on Instabilities and Nonlinearities in Long-Run Macroeconomic Relationships“ on May 26, 2026.

The thesis is a result of his work in the project “Instability and Nonlinearity in Long-Run Money Demand: Econometric Theory and Empirical Analysis” funded by Jubliäumsfonds der Oesterreichischen Nationalbank (Anniversary Fund of the Austrian Central Bank).

Expert Workshop and Public Presentation of Project Results

On May 26 and 27, 2026 there will be an expert workshop and the public presentation of the results of the project “Instability and Nonlinearity of Long-Run Money Demand: Econometric Theory and Empirical Analysis” of Prof. Martin Wagner (Quantitative Economics Division, Department of Economics, Analytics and Operations Research) funded by Jubiläumsfonds der Oesterreichischen Nationalbank.

External experts invited are Dietmar Bauer (Bielefeld University), Manfred Deistler (TU Wien) and Robert M. de Jong (Ohio State University).

Speakers from University of Klagenfurt are: Dmitri Blüschke, Sebastian Veldhuis und Martin Wagner.

Moving on…

Christian Zwatz, researcher in the joint FWF-DFG Weave Project „GLASS – Global Augmented State Space Error Correction Model“ by Martin Wagner (EAOR/QED) und Dietmar Bauer (University of Bielefeld), successfully completed his PhD studies in December with his dissertation entitled “Topics On Autocorrelation Robust Testing and Spatial Models”. Congratulations!

Christian is starting as postdoc assistant at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Vienna at the beginning of March. Christian’s move to the University of Vienna opens up exciting new paths for cooperation on current and maybe also new research topics.

608.196 (26S) Advanced Econometrics (Exercises to PhD Lectures at SEB University of Ljubljana)

This course offers an alternative to the exercise sessions accompanying the lectures on Advanced Econometrics in the PhD programme at the School of Economics and Business of University of Ljubljana so local students enrolled for that (e.g., via CESEENet) don’t neet to travel to Ljubljana for the exercises.

Lectures and exam(s) need to be attended in Ljubljana for a positive overall grade and being awarded 8 ECTS.
