The winners of the Cycling Challenge have been announced!

In 2023, many students and employees once again took part in the Cycling Challenge as part of the initiative “The University gets cycling”. There were two categories: the “commuting” category and the “total distance” category. The winners have now been honoured and rewarded with prizes!

A total of 63 university members took part in the Cycling Challenge last year. Juliane Achleitner is the winner in the “total distance” category, followed by Elmar Lenhart and Uwe Dutschmann. Elmar Lenhart wins in the “commuting” category, followed by Andrea Bonizzi and Nina Hofbauer. The winners received a reward for their commitment in the form of T-shirts and water bottles.

The University of Klagenfurt, whose environmental management system has been EMAS-certified since 2013, provides various incentives for environmentally and climate-conscious behaviour. One of these incentives is the Cycling Challenge, which took place for the second time in 2023. The aim is to replace as many kilometres travelled by car as possible with kilometres travelled by bike. More information about the “The University gets cycling” initiative can be found on our website.

We congratulate the winners of the challenge, are delighted with all the brave winter cyclists and wish everyone a sporty start to the cycling season in spring!
