On November 4th, the University of Klagenfurt organises the most important job and career fair in southern Austria and brings companies from a wide range of industries to the campus. Many of them are eager to meet international applicants and want to get to know you. So take advantage of this opportunity and talk to the company representatives in person.

To make a good first impression, we recommend bringing your CV with you. In addition to meeting representatives from various companies, you can also look forward to valuable fair specials that will prepare you perfectly for your entry into the job market.

Preparation for the fair

What can I do to prepare for the fair in advance?

Browse exhibiting companies on the web-site and make a note of employers that appeal to you.
Gather additional information on companies of interest.
Note down any open questions that can subsequently be answered during the con-versation at the booth and that underline your interest in the company.
Update your CV and if necessary pre- pare application documents for interesting job offers or unsolicited applications. The University‘s Career Services can provide valuable tips.
Prepare a short presentation to allow you to appear confident at the job fair stand and to provide important information about your-self in a structured way.
Check and optimise your own social media profiles.
Make a note of interesting talks.

What should I keep in mind on the day of the fair?

It’s important to look smart and well- groomed.
Bring your application documents and a notebook.
Talk to people at the booths and note down important information and names of con-tact persons.
Attend talks.
Use the photo corner and have your profes-sional application photo taken.
Get your CV checked and use the special services for our international students.
Scan the job wall for sui-table vacancies and take a photo to aid memory.
