The global patterns of materials use: a socioeconomic and geophysical analysis: Global country by country material flow dataset version 2.0

This dataset contains data on global material flows (extraction, imports, exports and domestic material consumption) for the year 2000 for 175 countries by main material groups. Version 2.0 differs from version 1.1 (see http://www.uni-klu.ac.at/socec/inhalt/2841.htm) only with respect to construction minerals: In version 1.1 the estimate for construction combines statistical data and a GDP based estimate. In version 2.0 we have estimated DMC of construction minerals on the basis of physical data only to allow for an analysis of the relation of material use and economic development. Mass flows are provided for biomass, fossil energy carriers, ores and industrial minerals and construction minerals. Data are presented as global totals (1000t) and per capita of global population (t/cap/yr).
