What can you expect?

ENJOY AN EASY START INTO EVERYDAY UNIVERSITY LIFE

The Welcome Days provide you with all you need to know about starting your degree programme. We will show you how to manage your studies in an efficient and focused manner, while also enjoying your time as a student. The Welcome Days are an opportunity for us to give you individually tailored information about your chosen degree programme, as well as general information that will simplify your daily life as a student.

The Welcome Days will offer interactive lectures on Moodle, degree-specific sessions, campus and library tours, and opportunities to meet people and mingle. There will also be information stands in the Aula area providing information about key service facilities at the university.

The Welcome Days count as a course and you will receive 1 ECTS credit for participating. To receive this ECTS credit, you need to go through all of the interactive lectures on the Moodle learning platform and attend the event on campus on 4 March. From middle of May, you can assign this course credit in the section “Open electives” (Freie Wahlfächer) of your electronic examination book. To ensure you receive the ECTS for your participation, we kindly request all students to sign their names on the attendance list at the Welcome Day (at the Registration from 9 a.m, lecture hall A). Your signature is mandatory in order to complete the course.

On 4 March Programme Directors, teaching assistants and student union representatives will provide you with essential information about your programme. The respective sessions will be offered on 4 March 2024 in the language of instruction of the respective degree programme (German or English). Attend the session that matches your degree programme.

The attendance at the programm is mandatory to ensure that you receive your first ECTS credit.

Interactive Lectures

Click on the Moodle icon to access the Moodle learning platform. Here you will find all of the mandatory interactive lectures.

These lectures are available online from 15 February to 30 April 2024.

In order to receive your first ECTS credit you need to complete the eight interactive lectures.

Moodle

Moodle is our learning platform at the University of Klagenfurt and corresponds to a virtual course space. Here, for example, working materials and learning activities are provided by teaching staff for our students.

Library Tour

The University Library is the scientific information centre of the University of Klagenfurt and ensures the provision of literature and information carriers for study, research, teaching and further education. We show you how to use our books and databases for your studies and where you can find which information.

Writing Centre

The Writing Centre at the University of Klagenfurt offers students writing courses, writing groups, writing advice, text coaching and writing workshops on academic writing, and also on job-related or creative writing.
